Great To Be Back! Back Into Browns With Dry Flies That Is!!

(Football size Muskegon River Brown Trout)

It’s a great feeling to be back trout fishing the Muskegon river again after some nice time off this summer.  Couldn’t be happier to report one of the best caddis hatches I’ve witnessed in a long time on the Muskegon river in early September.  Last night’s caddis hatch was one of the most prolific hatches I’ve ever seen in over 20 years of fishing the Muskegon.  This outstanding caddis hatch provided some great opportunities at some very large brown trout including this 16″ football size brown.

First time in along time I can remember the floodgates open in early September.  Excellent water conditions dropping below the 70 degree point.

Trout fishing with dry flies is on fire right now and will be our main focus until we transition into king salmon and fall steelhead in October.
