Pictured are my really good friends Ed and Eric with some really nice late spring steelhead from the Muskegon river. Although the numbers of steelhead are on the decline, there are still some nice ones around. This cool weather spell mixed with a push of water has brought a few more steelhead up.
Trout fishing conditions are improving. The gray drake hatch is starting to appear. Once the suckers have stopped spawning in the next few days the trout will start “looking up” for some of the best dry fly fishing of the year on the Muskegon river.
