Rusty and his son Gavin helping to hold Dad’s 14lb, 30″ outstanding double stripe male steelhead.
Here’s dad returning the favor helping to hold Gavin’s first ever steelhead. A 30″ 13lb mature double stripe buck. Not bad for a 13 year olds first steelhead. Great fish Gavin. You “earned” it! Well done!!
Rusty holding a steelhead that hit on the retrieve at the end of the swing. This slight push of water and cloudy skies paid off well yesterday. The bite was on! Rusty and Gavin had several hook-ups and epic battles with some outstanding steelhead.
Steelhead are present throughout the river system. Due to the ideal water temps in the mid 40’s, the next few weeks steelhead can be found in all types of water in the river. Faster runs, slower pools, and all points in between are all holding steelhead. Patients and covering a lot of water is key.
