Mark & his son Allen from Illinois joined me this past Sunday for a half day evening trip. Both are relatively new to steelhead fishing and found out first hand why steelhead are the hardest fighting fresh water game fish in North America. Both Mark and Allen hooked their fair share of steelhead, but just couldn’t get them to the boat for a photo opp. Allen however landed this beautiful 21″ 3lb Eagle Strain Rainbow Trout.
The trout fishing on the Muskegon river is starting to pick up. I witnessed several rises later in the evening. Won’t be long until we make the transition from steelhead to trout fishing.
