Here’s Rob pictured with some chrome steelhead from the Muskegon River. It’s amazing what a little relief in boat and fishing pressure can do to turn the bite back on. And today the bite was back on with several hook-ups on some outstanding chrome steelhead throughout the day.

It seems the early am bite has been producing the best as the steelhead are now transitioning to other locations throughout the river system as the salmon run comes to an end.

Water levels have subsided to more normal flows at this time of the year holding around 2600 cfs. Water temps are quickly on the decline finally pushing the 50 degree point. Steelhead numbers are good right now as the fish are starting to “come out from hiding” after all the boat pressure from this past weekend. Better things are yet to come! Late November and early December provides some of the best fall steelheading of the season.
